Systems thinking dispels illusion
Arjuna was local and family conscious. Due to illusion his systems and cosmic thinking was covered.
Confusion is a result of lack of systems thinking. Sri Krishna thru his friendly discussion elevates Arjuna from a local thinking
to cosmic thinking which brings clarity to him on his purpose, duty seeing himself as a component in the cosmic setup.
Armed with Cosmic thinking, illusion shattered he gets energised to fight ....................

2.17 -> Arjuna said Now I am confused about my duty and have lost all composure because of weakness. In this condition I am asking You to tell me clearly what is best for me. Now I am Your disciple, and a soul surrendered unto You. Please instruct me.
Chapter 7, Verse 19. After many births and deaths, he who is actually in knowledge surrenders unto Me, knowing Me to be the cause of all causes and all that is. Such a great soul is very rare.
The living entities in this conditioned world are My eternal, fragmental parts. Due to conditioned life, they are struggling very hard with the six senses, which include the mind.
Chapter 15, Verse 19. Whoever knows Me as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, without doubting, is to be understood as the knower of everything, and He therefore engages himself in full devotional service, O son of Bharata.
Chapter 11, Verse 32. The Blessed Lord said: Time I am, destroyer of the worlds, and I have come to engage all people. With the exception of you [the Pandavas], all the soldiers here on both sides will be slain.
Chapter 11, Verse 33. Therefore get up and prepare to fight. After conquering your enemies you will enjoy a flourishing kingdom. They are already put to death by My arrangement, and you, O Savyasaci, can be but an instrument in the fight.
