Purushottam Yog, Gita chapter 15

Tree is a strange thing. It comes in poetry and also as analogy in various conceptual explanations. Love under trees or singing songs rotating around trees in many famous bollywood songs is common. Why this fuss all about a tree? Even in Hatha yoga, tree finds its signature as Vrikshasana, the tree pose. Supposedly the tree teaches us to lead life as an observer instead of active participant. Act like a participant but think and feel like a observer. Great people have achieved enlightenment under a tree. from Gautama to Newton eureka moments are triggered in the shelter of a tree. From romance to knowledge to enlightenment to just afternoon nap, all happens under a tree. Many parts of a tree like root, branch, trunk has found its way in daily lexicon. For example, mooladhara chakra tuning helps one to get rooted. Sri Krishna has shown that a tree can explain the architecture and purpose of cosmos. Study the tree and climb away to liberating freedom is his message in 15th chapter Gita. One who knows the tree knows everything 'Veda vit'

The understanding of Purushottam yoga begins with description of a tree. We are living on a tree with no beginning, no end and nobody can see its form. But what we know is that perfection can be attained by climbing up and searching the Padam or supreme destination from which one need not come back. This search for unreturnable place is the goal of Gita and human life. Avoiding the downward roots one has to sincerely climb step by step. But the speed of climbing depends on the degree to which iam entangled in the roots. One has to cut this entanglement using the different kinds of knives - Nirmana means not seeking any respect acknowledgement for action in this world. Just act out of inborn nature and not for admiration. Dont be tempted by any offering by the world during the climbing journey. Temptation by a fruit or pausing for tasting will almost always lead to a detour. Dont associate with folks who are descending down 'Jita sanga dosha'. Just become a sincere student of the art of climbing 'adhyatma nitya'. Dont like or hate the environmental dualities during the climb. This is the fastest way to climb and reach the abode of Purushottama. One cannot cut the tree because it is 'avyaya' inexhaustible but one can cut ones entanglement or stickiness with the tree. The life down with the sun moon fire is all enabled by the same Purushottama. He enters into the planets to maintain them. Further inside he becomes the fire in the stomach and also sits in our heart. Realising that he has embraced and enveloped me from all directions, just surrender in love to the all pervading applying all emotions in the relationship. Our relationship with Purushottama is Purushottama yoga. One who endeavours to connect to all pervading reality of Purushottama is the true intelligent and will feel perfection in all activities. The experience of perfection is when activities are performed as inspired by and as offering to Purushottama.

Life is like a tree jumping from one branch to another sometime without priority. We are jumping on a moving tree, hence the hiccups injuries.
