Purushottam Yog, Gita chapter 15

Tree is a strange thing. It comes in poetry and also as analogy in various conceptual explanations. Love under trees or singing songs rotating around trees in many famous bollywood songs is common. Why this fuss all about a tree? Even in Hatha yoga, tree finds its signature as Vrikshasana, the tree pose. Supposedly the tree teaches us to lead life as an observer instead of active participant. Act like a participant but think and feel like a observer. Great people have achieved enlightenment under a tree. from Gautama to Newton eureka moments are triggered in the shelter of a tree. From romance to knowledge to enlightenment to just afternoon nap, all happens under a tree. Many parts of a tree like root, branch, trunk has found its way in daily lexicon. For example, mooladhara chakra tuning helps one to get rooted. Sri Krishna has shown that a tree can explain the architecture and purpose of cosmos. Study the tree and climb away to liberating freedom is his message in 15th chapter Gita. ...

Dus bahane.......and Gita

A cell has deviated from its natural functional position and the one organic whole is trying to get the cell back to its constitutional nature. Since the cell is adamant, the organic whole uses various bahana and is called 'Dus bahane'.  Here now, here now Everybody put your hands up in the air now Here now, here now Everybody put your hands all up and s... We have to act in the now. Eckardt tole has written the concept 'power of now'. Dreams are realised how we act in the now. Now means actions, karma yoga and not just dreaming, envisioning and keeping quiet. You have to act it out towards your vision in the now. Spirituality starts with surrender. Surrender to the energetic supreme principle behind the screen of the visible world. We need to feel helpless and surrender to that absolute principle behind the workings. As said in Gita 'Maya adhyekshena prakrtir' under my superintendence this prakrti is working. Hands-up is symbolic of surrender to the supreme adm...

haan mai galat, love aaj kal to Gita

A song can be explored in multidimensions depending on the color of glass you wear. Lets try to analyse this lovely song from Loveajjkal2 from a spiritual dimension from the perspective of earthy soul attaining romance with its origin creator the supreme consciousness. haan main Galat Galat meri baatein Galati se hi duniya bani poora sahi koi nahin hai le le meri chetaavan i Accepting this needs humility but is the starting point. Iam wrong, 'galat' this feeling is a stepping stone for course correction and achieving perfect bliss. The world is a platform for mistaken souls ( galat se hi duniya bani ). The souls who have left the comfort of the shelter of supreme consciousness and are roaming the alien world of matter suffering the 3 fold miseries of material existence. This is technically called 'dvitiya abhinivesa' where one imbibes the secondary consciousness that something exist other than the one supreme controller. This leads to fear due to multiple controlle...

COVID 19, Corona, lockdown and Bhagavad Gita

Image
Presently due to the Corona pandemic, Whole country is lockdown. Lakshman rekha at the house door. All kinds of travel is banned even going outside the house. Flights, train, buses are off. Just stay at home is called a lock down. It is enforced but also voluntary lockdown. Is there lockdown concept in Gita?         The premise is that every concept will have its presence directly or indirectly in the Gita. Whats the difference between lockdown and lockup? One can lock oneself and go down or one can lock and move up. Evolve up. In Gita, the recommendation is to lock the senses. It is basically selective locking. In general societal terms lockup is used for the place, the prisonhouse. Whereas lockdown is more of a voluntary action to stay put with minimal external interaction. Any kind of meditation needs some form of selective lockdown. Our senses are bombarded with flow of data from all directions. Everything should not be allowed inside into the consciousness. Th...

Corona Virus and weapons from the Gita

Image
Global corona virus is creating Vishada means a poison like misery sad feeling in the mind of people. It is very similar to what Arjuna faced at the start of the kurukshetra world war when he was face to face with ones own family members. Many are questioning why the nature of this world is like this? Waves of issues, challenges come in one after the other. It may be personal misery, misery wave due to behavior of other people, or due to natural upheaval like floods, virus, forest fire, etc....Its the nature of the world. One cannot stop no matter the advancement in science and technology. The worldly challenges continuously evolve releasing newer version and we are always in a catchup game. What to do? Gita thru its 18 yoga techniques have the answer.  The vishada or questions that arise when in misery or frustrated unable to handle the constant barrage of challenges the world throws up. But during Vishada one has to find a very spiritually competent person linked to Krishna if ...

transcendence during travel

Travel to Finland was cold. It was via Dubai to Helsinki. Business travel and all that stuff but anyway everything is a learning opportunity. Every moment in this world affords a inner growth opportunity. All is anyway a covering over brahman. Travel over flights are also deep meditation opportunities. Just close eyes chant mantras and meditate. Meditation at one level is just to close eyes and observe what thought patterns arise in mind. As you observe they stop and a ray of light from soul can touch if fortunate. So anyway it's good to not look into inflight entertainment but get entertained by observing one's own thoughts. It's therapeutic, believe me. Isn't a great time to introspect, self reflect? The flight connections, long wait sometime, poorly managed low quality flights all are part of the game. The in-flight announcement, the turbulence, the cramped cattle class experience. Anyway traverse the contours of your inner being folks. Kirtan is an amazing techniqu...
