🎬 Cinema of the Soul: A Spiritual Script of Life 🌞

Life, much like a movie, unfolds in scenes — some doors don’t open, some characters don’t respond. We script our desires, yet destiny edits them. Amid worldly competition and rising inflation, we lose the plot. But just as Vasamsi Jeernani Yatha Vihaya reminds us, old roles and costumes are shed for new ones — the soul remains the true actor.

In this cosmic Big Boss house, everything is under the CCTV of karma. Our paychecks, schedules, and daily metro rides carry emotional backstories. Even shopping — often dismissed as material — is how some souls (like Stree) expand, experience, and express.

Tad Vishnoḥ Paramam Padam beckons us to look beyond. Irfan Khan did — his roles reflected spiritual depth, his passing a reminder that acting and living, when done with awareness, become prayer.

Govinda, the beginningless Anadi Adi, directs this movie. Each moment — even delays and heartbreaks — is a cinematic frame of soul evolution. Aditya, the Sun, is our spotlight. Aging can freeze when awareness flows.

When selecting our next “role,” let it be guided not by box office, but by Atma. This world is not just a stage — it’s a sacred film set, where Spirit scripts stardom.

Last week the movie Ravanan got released in multiple languages – Hindi, tamil, telugu. Its a ManiRatnam magnum opus scripted around the character of Ravana – the ten headed villain in Hindu epic Ramayana. Its about exploring the ten different characters in the same person and how they interact, conflict each other. Is it like a multiple personality disorder? I don’t know – haven’t seen the movie. There is a recent spate of movies based on our holy epics. If Rajneeti by Prakash Jha was a take on Mahabharatha, Mani’s version is inspired by Ramayana. In fact this is a first take on Ramayan being used as base for modern day story telling. Mani has to be credited for his creativity and for going in the direction of unexplored waters. What are these epics? Are they just stories, fables or reality? What makes them holy?

Jadananda and cidananda

Recently went on a spiritual vacation to Navadwip. Spiritual vacations are little austere to the material body. We adjust with simple accomodation and pilgrim food. This austerity helps us to be rich in cidananda or conscious pleasure. Can Jadananda and cidananda coexist? I think before going to this question we need to understand the significant difference between the two. Jadananda is the ordinary pleasures of this world. Jadananda is the feeling of happiness derived from the interaction or friction of sense objects with the senses. When there is friction between good food with the taste buds of the tongue, jadananda is generated. Similarly all material gross pleasures are born out of friction. Jadananda is of 2 types - the gross and the subtle. The subtle Jadananda is experienced when we deal emotionally by giving meaning to material identities. Ananda due to the interaction between father and daughter is one of the examples.

Vishnu Sahasranama verse 60, Bhagavaan Bhagaha Nandi (Gaudiya interpretation)

Verse 60: Bhagavān Bhagahā Nandī Vanamālī Halāyudhaḥ Ādityo Jyotirādityaḥ Sahiṣṇur Gatisattamaḥ ||60|| He is Bhagavān —the possessor of all opulences, and Bhagahā —the one who can withdraw them at will. Though all divine qualities and powers ( vibhūtis ) emanate from Him, He retains the freedom to reclaim them, especially at the time of pralaya or cosmic dissolution. By His inherent nature, He is Ānandī —always blissful, because He is full of bhaga , the six-fold opulences. This bhaga is intrinsic to Him and never diminishes; instead, it constantly flows back into Him, signifying no loss whatsoever. He is Nandī because He is in a perpetual state of bliss, and to access this bliss, one must associate with and serve the Ānandī —the ever-blissful Lord. This bliss is maintained by constantly remaining in service ( sewa ) to the son of Nandagopa—Śrī Krishna. The idea that this verse refers to the son of Nandagopa is supported by Bhīṣmadeva's following words in the Mahābhārata....
